PALS Book Sale – Saturday, Nov. 18

The Book Sale is Back! Saturday, November 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Durham Public Library. All proceeds benefit PALS: The Friends of the Durham Public Library.

We’ll be accepting donations for the sale at the library from October 16 until November 6. Please note that we will  not accept books that:

  • Have mold, water damage, or damaged covers
  • Are marked up by previous owners
  • Have torn or missing pages
  • Are older than 1991 (not including rare or first edition classics)
  • Business, computer, economics, health, social sciences or travel books older than 2006

Try our Periodical Reading Room!

The the original library room has now been set up for silent reading or working. Comfortable chairs invite you to sit down and spend some quiet time with a book, or with the newspapers and magazines which are now located in this space.

Absolutely no conversation or phone calls allowed in this space.

New at the Library

Coffee is now available for purchase. Keurig pods may be purchased for $1.25 each. Enjoy our cozy reading areas. (Lids must be used in the Library.)

Welcome and remarks from Connecticut State Librarian Deborah Schander and Library Board Chair Robert Booz will open the event at 10 AM

Get a library card, check out our new study rooms, chat in our comfy seating areas, and learn more about the library’s programs and services.
