Post Office Scavenger Hunt

Find all the post office pictures hidden in the  Children’s Department and turn in your sheet at the front desk for a small reward. For all ages, drop-in runs for the entire month. Play as many times as you like.

Potions 101- Grades 3-5

Welcome to Hogwarts!

Our first class in this series is Introduction to Potions. We’ll be experimenting with fantastic ingredients while making potions from the books!

Part of this program will be edible, please indicate on the registration form if there are any allergies I should be aware of.

For kids in grades 3-5. Registration is required.


Nutmeg Nights: A Book Club for Grades 3-6 In-Person

Mondays: 10/07, 11/04, 12/02, 1/06, 2/03, 3/03.

Join Miss Alex one Monday a month starting 10/07 at 6:15 pm for Nutmeg Nights! In this club, we will read a selection of the 2025 Intermediate Nutmeg book Nominees. Club members will then have a group discussion and do a fun activity, craft, or game relating to the book we’ve just read.

Our first book will be Loki: A Bad God’s Guide To Being Good by Louie Stowell Stop by the front desk to pick up your copy starting 9/16. Register online by using the library’s calendar.

Wand Making

Need a Witch or Wizard’s wand for your Halloween costume? Do you want to make a magic wand? Join us to create your wand—registration is required. Limit 20 for each session. Registration opens 10/2.  Meets at 5:30 PM OR 6:45 PM. Grades 3 and up. Teens Welcome.

Please only register for ONE session.


Pokemon Duel Club 

Saturdays: 11/9/24 & 11/23 /24

1:30 pm

Join us for fun-filled Pokémon dueling sessions! The library will have a few decks to loan, and no trading will be allowed. All levels of experience are welcome! Test your skills, make new friends, and enjoy the excitement of Pokémon battles. Open to kids in grades 3-6. Registration is encouraged but not required. To register please use the library’s online calendar.


LEGO Robotics

Monday 10/21 

4:30 pm for Grades 1-2   &  6 PM for Grade 3+

Monday evening kids in Grades 1-2 and 3+ can build and program a simple robot using LEGO Spike Essential Robotics kits—registration required.


Haunted Gingerbread Houses 

Wednesday 10/30/24

6 PM

Decorate a haunted gingerbread house this evening. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required, register online using the library’s calendar starting 10/16/23. Open to families with children 3 & up. Teens welcome. This event will take place at the community center on Pickett Ln.


Election Day LEGO Robotics 

11/5/24

Grades 1-2: 10:00 AM OR 3:00 PM Grades 3-5: 11:30 AM OR1:30 PM

Join us on Election Day, November 5, 2024, for LEGO Robotics. This event is for kids in Grades 1-2 and 3-5.  As voters cast their ballots, our young engineers will be constructing and programming simple robots using LEGO Spike Essential Robotics kits. This hands-on experience fosters STEM skills and teamwork.

Registration is required and opens 2 weeks before each session unless otherwise noted. Register online using the library’s calendar. Space is limited to 10-12 participants per session, so sign up early to ensure your spot.

Schedule:

  • Grades 1-2: 10:00 AM OR 3:00 PM
  • Grades 3-5: 11:30 AM OR1:30 PM

Drop-in Veterans Day Craft

Visit with Santa & Town Tree Lighting 

Saturday 12/7/24

2-4 PM

Visit with Santa from 2:00-3:30 PM in the Children’s Department, do some crafts, and have a small snack!  Then at 4 PM head over to the Town Green for the Tree Lighting.


Cocoa & Crafts

Thursdays: 12/5, 12/12, 12/19.

6 PM

Kids in grades 3 and up can join Miss Alex on Thursdays at 6:00 PM in December for cocoa, crafts, and chit-chat. Registration is required, you are registering for ONE session. Register online using the library’s calendar.
